OPINION: Think twice on a constitutional convention

For those who are thinking of voting for a constitutional convention, consider: Are you pleased with the performance of the Alaska Legislature? These are in all likelihood the same sort of clowns who would be the convention delegates. Unless by some miracle Bill Egan, Ralph Rivers and Muktuk Marston can be reincarnated, it will be a collection of our current “statesmen.”

I for one am not enamored with the prospect. It’s by far the best state constitution in the United States. If it needs tweaking bad enough it can happen by amendment. Vote no on Ballot Measure 1.
